Roger George Schlueter

Roger George Schlueter, 67, Rich Hill, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Bates County Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 27, 1938, to George Walter and Helen B. Radunz Schlueter in Hutchinson, Minn. He married Dixie Catherine Lee on Feb. 20, 1960.

He grew up in Hutchinson, Minn., and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1956. He was employed by Crown Iron Works in Minnesota prior to moving to Bates County and beginning to dairy farm, row crop and raising beef cattle. He retired the dairy farm in 2003, but continued his job as a mental health worker at Heartland Behavioral Health Services in Nevada. He was a member of the Hume Methodist Church, a former member of the Hume Lions Club and a charter member and president of the Foster volunteer fire department.

He is survived be his wife, Dixie, of Rich Hill; one son, Warren Jay Schlueter, Hume; one daughter, Rena Lea Schlueter, Joplin; three brothers, Clarence Schlueter, Crystal, Minn., Harry Schlueter, Stewart, Minn., and Gene Schlueter, Hutchinson, Minn.; one sister, Janet Klockman, Golden Valley, Minn.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn infant brother.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler with Marvin Jamison officiating. Burial was in the Salem Cemetery in Foster, Mo. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Foster volunteer fire department.
