Gladys G. Pulliam, 82, of El Dorado, Kan., died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at the home of her son near Townada, Kan. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, at Leon, Kan., the daughter of Hinkley and Anna Zang Thorburn.

She had lived in El Dorado since 1951, and worked in the Safeway Bakery, the offices of both Gambles and Montgomery Wards, and had also worked in Bowlis Laundry.

On July 5, 1948, she married Johnny Pulliam at Nevada, Mo.

She leaves her husband of the home; a son, Doug Pulliam, Towanda; four grandchildren, Melisa Hosley, Towanda, Matthew Hulbert and Kaitlyn Hulbert, both of El Dorado; Chelsea Pulliam, Rosalia, Kan.; and four great-grandchildren, Evan and Travis Masters, both of El Dorado, and Sara and Savana Masters, both of Towanda.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and five sisters.

Services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado, Kan. Interment will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado.
