Parade and pageant entry deadline is Monday

The deadline for entries in the annual holiday parade and Miss Merry Christmas pageant is 4 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28.

Forms for entering both events are available at the Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce office located at 201 East Cherry, on the second level of the TeamBank building.

The Miss Merry Christmas pageant is open to all area school age young women (kindergarten through grade 12). A panel of judges will determine the winners, based on a short talent presentation and personal interviews.

This year's pageant is sponsored by Heartland Behavioral Health Services in cooperation with the Community Council on the Performing Arts.

All participants will receive a commemorative item and will have a royal spot in the annual holiday parade the evening of the pageant.
