Three at the buzzer lifts Wildcats

Will Daniels hit a 3-pointer while time expired to lift the Bronaugh Wildcats over the Hume Hornets Friday, 53-50.

Playing in Hume, Daniels scored a team-high 23 points, including the game winner, after the game was tied at 50. Bronaugh threw the ball in from under their own basket with 0.8 seconds left, allowing only a catch and release by the senior, and the ball dropped.

Hume senior Justin Wehar led all scorers with 29 points, including 15 in the final quarter to help Hume recover from a 35-28 lead after three.

Bronaugh's Nick Judd was the only other player in double figures with 10 points.

Bronaugh improved to 3-3 with the win, Hume dropped to 4-3.

In the girls' game also Friday, Bronaugh won 32-29.

Jessica Langford led the Lady Wildcats with nine points.

Leana Brooks led all scorers with 13 for Hume.

The games were the final ones for both schools until after the winter break.
