Conflicting information

It's getting harder in today's world to figure out what's good and what's bad. Most recently, there has been plenty of press about the greenhouse effect and the warming that is going on. There are dire predictions about the ice caps melting, the oceans rising on the coast, and flooding of the low-lying areas. There have been stories about animals and plants moving to higher elevations, but other scientists say it is all a series of cycles and that the earth has been through this before.

Kansas seems to be somewhat removed from the brouhaha. I picked up Time magazine last week to see that the Atlantic current is warming and the cold current underneath is not as strong as it once was.

Therefore, scientists are now predicting that Europe is in for a possible deep freeze in the coming years, given their ocean's temperatures.

Another news article talked about how planting trees would help remove the carbon dioxide from the air.

Now, in last Friday's paper, they are saying that new computer simulations indicate that trees across North America could provide a cooling effect for a few decades to a century, but after that it would lead to more warming.

I guess with all the confusing studies, it is best to wait and see what the next one has to say or; if Time magazine is right, and it gets too hot in the United States, you could always move to Europe.
