Eagles sweep Jayhawks

MOUND CITY, Kan. -- Uniontown's basketball teams swept Jayhawk-Linn in a Three Rivers League doubleheader here Friday night. Eagle girls took a 53-41 win while the boys prevailed over the Jayhawks, 60-48.
Uniontown's girls (2-1 TRL, 6-6 overall) won their game in the second quarter, when they outscored Jayhawk-Linn 18-12.
Carissa Fink led the Eagles with 18 points while Kaity Smith added 11 and Kylie Shepard put in 10.
Alexis Cannon paced Jayhawk-Linn (2-2, 5-8) with 15 points. Audrey George added 10.
Chad Hays scored 14 points and hauled down 15 rebounds as Uniontown's boys (1-2, 5-7) took the victory. Abram Jennings chipped in with 10 points.
Jayhawk-Linn (1-3, 3-10) saw Nick Lawrence score 14 points.
Jayhawk-Linn's teams host Osawatomie Monday night in a non-league doubleheader.
Uniontown's teams travel to Oswego to make up a TRL twinbill with the Indians that was snowed out earlier this season.
