Students at St. Mary's Catholic School in Nevada are observing National Catholic Schools Week, with a variety of special activities each day this week.

The week began with a mayoral proclamation in honor of Catholic Schools Week on Monday. A Christian book fair for students is being conducted, and on Tuesday, the school hosted story time with Martha Bledsoe, children's librarian at the Nevada Public Library. Today, Nevada students will travel to Fort Scott to take part in Mass at Fort Scott Mary Queen of Angels, with students from St. Mary's Catholic School in Fort Scott. They will follow that visit with letter-writing exercises, penning correspondence to Bishop Finn and thank-you notes to their hosts in Fort Scott. On Friday, families will join students for a movie.
