Tessa Jean Bandy

Tessa Jean Bandy, the daughter of Douglas Bandy and Barbara Allphin, was born on Aug. 5, 1996, in Kansas City, Mo., and passed from this life on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, at nine years of age.

Tessa was a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she attended services and was given strength and support by the entire congregation.

She played with the Paola Girls Softball Association for 2 years and the Miola Basketball League for one season, both in former cities in which she had lived. Here in Nevada, she played softball on the city league for one season. Tessa was very outgoing and enjoyed being around people of all ages. She is an inspiration to her family, her friends and everyone who came across her throughout her life.

Survivors include her parents, Douglas Bandy and stepmother Teri Bandy, Barbara Allphin and stepfather James W. Allphin; sisters, Carissa, Jenna and Emma Bandy; stepsisters, Amanda Vickers and Hannah Vickers; a half sister Ashley Bandy; and a half brother, Douglas Matthew Bandy Jr.; aunts, Alethea Coleman and Peggy Flint; uncles Eddie Cantwell, Weldon Brundige, Daniel Brundige and Tom Spielman; uncles and aunts Brent and Kalene Winn, John and Maria Markis, Rick Speilman and Linda Barstow; grandparents Jerry and Monya Cantwell and Jane Bandy.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
