Peterson -- 60 years

Marie Judy and Kenneth Peterson were married March 8, 1946, by the Rev. W. Dunlap, pastor of the First Christian Church.

The groom had just returned from serving three years in the Air Force, of which 20 months were spent in China, Burma and India theaters in World War II. The bride was employed in the claims department of the Western Insurance Companies at the time of their marriage.

Kenneth retired from Ennis Business Forms in 1985.

They have six children: Sharon Mauck, Fort Scott, Kan.; Kenneth Leon Peterson, Fulton, Mo.; Patricia Harris, Pittsburg, Kan.; Marilyn Budy, Fort Scott; Rodney Peterson, Ontario, Canada; and Melinda Teed, Eureka, Montana. There are 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

To honor the couple's 60th wedding anniversary, friends and family are welcome to celebrate with them from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, March 18, at their home at 1019 232nd Street, Fort Scott.
