Paul Johannes Junker, 67, Liberal, Mo., died Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., following a sudden illness. He was born Sept. 20, 1938, in Ardale, Iowa, to Henry Junker and Mattie Schwenan Junker. He and Lila Mae Bean were married on Feb. 14, 1980, in Charles City, Iowa. She preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 2004.

Paul was born and reared in Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following the service, he returned to Iowa and made his living in a variety of pursuits. He came to this area in 1992, and spent the remainder of his life here.

Survivors include one son, Shawn Junker, Liberal; one daughter, Shelly Ward, Milo, Mo.; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Junker, Nashua, Iowa. Committal services will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, March 24, at Iantha Cemetery, Iantha, Mo., with Randy Sprenkle officiating.

Arrangements are by Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.
