Chad Hays, a junior at Uniontown (Kan.) High School, has been invited to attend a NIKE football training camp in College Station, Texas April 22. Elite high school players with college potential are taught position-specific drills by some of the top NFL players and sports performance specialists in America. Participants in the camp are tested in the 40-yard dash, bench press -- how many times they can lift 185 pounds, vertical jump and 20-yard shuttle.

Every year, about one out of every three camp attendees sign with an NCAA Division I college. This past year, 42 percent of high school seniors who signed a football scholarship attended a NIKE camp. Currently over 90 NIKE camp alums dot NFL rosters.

Hays was a First Team All-Three Rivers League quarterback and defensive back this past season and received Kansas All-Class 2A honors in both football and basketball playing for Uniontown High School. He was recently named to the Early 2006 Elite 11 Quarterbacks to Watch List according to Rivals.com.

Chad is the son of Frank and Patty Hays, Lawrence, Kan., and Kelly Hall, Mapleton, Kan.
