MoKanHorns hook first tourney win of season

On the weekend of April 1-2, the MoKan Longhorns 13-and-under baseball team won their first tournament of the year at Champion Diamonds in Nevada. The team is in its second year with boys from Nevada, Lamar, Carthage, Fort Scott (Kan.) and Pittsburg (Kan.). The Longhorns won their opening game 7-5, holding their opponent to four hits. The second game they won 10-5 while committing no errors. The third game they won handily, 10-2. In the championship game they defeated a team from Joplin 7-0, behind a complete game one-hitter by pitcher Matt Carrillo.
