Doubleheader scheduled for next week. Racing resumed tonight at Nevada Speedway. Last week's races were canceled because of storm damage and the Mini-Stock special was rescheduled for the 22nd. Saturday night's races were exciting and were well underway when the tornado sirens for the city of Nevada sounded, resulting in the balance of the races for the night being canceled and everyone heading for shelter. The Late Model, Modified A and Mini-Stock features will be run at the beginning of next week's action. What will happen next week? Join us each and every week to catch all the action at the biggest little racetrack in the country.

Late Model heat race winners were Alan Vaughn, Belton, and Bill Humble Jr., Rich Hill. The Feature will be run next week.

Modified heat race winners were Kenneth Pike, Nevada, Ron Bolin Jr., Fort Scott, Kan., and Craig Wood, El Dorado Springs. Bob Kerbs raced into the lead near the start of the B Feature. Pike raced up to challenge him and they left the field behind as they raced for the position. Kerbs held off Pike to capture the win. Kerbs, Pike, Troy Reasoner Jr. and Robert Holman will probably all advance to the back of the A Feature to be run next week.

Street Stock heat race winners were Joe Beard, Liberal, Andy Skaggs, Fort Scott, Kan., and Chris Rodabaugh, El Dorado Springs. B Feature: Denny Chrisenbery quickly zoomed into the lead at the start and built up a big lead on the balance of the field. Clifford Leam spun, bringing out the yellow flag and closing the field behind Chrisenbery for the restart. Chrisenbery led start to finish the claim the win. Chrisenbery, Zack Marsh, and Tyler Black moved to the back of the A Feature. At the start over half the field went spinning and an original restart was called. After several attempts the Feature was underway with Karl Lehmann and Chris Rodabaugh racing side by side around the track, first one nosing ahead, then the other. While these two were contesting for the lead, Chrisenbery raced up from the back of the field to join them. All three cars left the field behind as they raced each other. Rodabaugh had taken the lead when Black spun, bringing out the yellow flag and closing the field behind him for the restart. Chrisenbery raced around the high side of the track to claim the lead. Chrisenbery held off a strong challenge from Lehmann to claim the win, his first of the season.

Factory Stock heat race winners were Lester Rhodes, Raymore, and Joey Davenport, Girard, Kan. Darren Dennison got the lead at the start of the Feature, then got a little high in the corner, which sent him sideways and he was hit by Zack Simmons. This brought out the yellow flag and Rhodes was in the lead for the restart. Another yellow flew as Rhodes, Darren Danner, Chip More and Selsor tangled. Shawn Hendren led the field to the green flag for the restart with Brian Welliver in second place. Henry Whaley tried high and low to gain the lead but Hendren held his ground and claimed the win, his first of the season.

Mini Stock heat race winners were Matt Rose and Scott Mohlfeld, both from Liberal. Feature race to be run at the start of next week's racing event.
