Larry Dean Hendrix, 64, Nevada, Mo., died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Nevada, to William Henry Hendrix and Bessie Wilhemina Koehler Hendrix. He married Carol Ann Gibson on Feb. 14, 1996, in Milo, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Larry was born and reared in Nevada and spent virtually his entire lifetime here. He worked for 28 years as a delivery trucker for Coca-Cola and later worked for a number of years for Adam Sales in Nevada. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially a fisherman.

Survivors in addition to his wife Carol include two sons, Larry Dean Hendrix Jr. and his wife Lisa, Fort Scott, Kan., Dannie Hendrix and his wife Susan, Walker, Mo.; one daughter, Shellie June Fields and husband Leland, Cameron, Mo.; four stepchildren, Darla Rangel, Prophetstown, Ill., Brian Brooks, Independence, Mo., Sandra Whiles, Herdland, Mo., and Ronnie Jacobs, serving in Iraq; numerous grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, and one great-grandchild; six brothers, Jack Hendrix, Smithville, Mo., Carl Hendrix, Oklahoma City, Okla., Roger Hendrix, Oregon, Standlee Hendrix, Neodesha, Kan., Gordon Hendrix, Nevada, Don Hendrix, Kansas City, Kan.; four sisters, Mary Ellen "Sis" Kimberling, Overland Park, Kan., Bonnie Powell, O'Fallen, Mo., Martha O'Connor, Nevada, and Rose Kelley, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Paul, Herman, Joe, James, Bill, Bob, Lewis "Bub," and Loyd "Gene" Hendrix, and one sister, Ann Garske.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Thursday, April 27, at the Milo Baptist Church, Milo, with the Rev. Jim Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until noon, Thursday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and the family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m., on Thursday, prior to the service at the Milo Baptist Church.
