Klassen and Walsh Wed

Genevieve Marie Klassen and Benjamin Alexander Walsh were married on Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kan.

Genevieve is the daughter of Ron and Jean Klassen of Fort Scott, Kan. Her grandparents are Len and Fran Klassen of Hacienda Heights, Calif. The bride is a graduate of Kansas University and Arizona State University with degrees in French horn performance.

Ben is the son of Carol Reed Walsh of Southwest Harbor, Maine, and Kevin Walsh, of Boston, Mass. The groom is a graduate of Northwestern University in Chicago with a degree in Trombone performance.

The Rev. Phil Wolfe officiated the ceremony with the reception in The Agricultural Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kan.

Attendants were maid of honor Marie Clyatt, cousin of the bride; friend Jane Dodgen; and sisters-in-law Alexandra Klassen and Rose Klassen. Best man Joseph Walsh, brother of the groom; friends Tim Owner and Chris Konfirst; and brother-in-law John Klassen.

Music included selections of Durufle, J.S. Bach, DuPre, Arcadelt, Mouret, Mozart, Palestrina, Widor, and Gregorian chant. Instrumentals by Paul Stevens, French horn; John Schaefer, organ; and Catherine Clyatt, cello. Vocals by Jean Klassen, soprano; Elaine Clyatt, alto; John Clyatt, tenor; Victor Tan, baritone; and Joseph Klassen, bass.
