Son alleged to have shot father

Barton County has another shooting affair that is causing the county officers much trouble to unravel and which is very similar to the shooting affair that happened in that county about two years ago. A well-to-do farmer of that county was shot from ambush a few days ago and although not mortally wounded he came very near of being killed instantly. Mr.Gardner the man who was shot, had driven over to his brother's farm, and went on the road house he was shot in the back of his head and neck and a number of small shots were picked out by the physicians. Gardner did not see the person who fired the shot. Gardner has a son, about 18 or 19 years of age who tells officers that he was out hunting the morning that his father was shot.
