Some 30 people braved the extreme heat to attend the Clinkenbeard family reunion on Aug. 12 and 13, at the Vernon County fairgrounds diner in Nevada, Mo.

Family histories and photos were shared, some new family ties discovered, "first timers" recognized, games played and prizes awarded, before the evening meal. Greg Gooch asked the Lord's blessing on those attending and the bountiful potluck meal.

Those who returned on Sunday morning were served a brunch of biscuits and gravy, ham, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, and hot tea before beginning their journey home.

Attending were: Jerry and Ruth Miller, Chaplin, Minn.; David, Carol and Shawna Schlecta, Ottawa, Kan.; Bud and LaVelle Clinkingbeard, Ava, Mo.; Mel and Dave Clinkingbeard, Mokane, Mo.; Dan and Trish Kneip Kitchel, House Springs, Mo.; Mary Ann Kneip, Valley Park, Mo.; Harry Hines, Kirkwood, Mo.; Bob and Doris Steward, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; Greg and Judy Gooch family, of Jasper, Mo.; Helen Emery, Jay Emery, Dawn, Megan and J.D. Howell, Nevada, Mo.; Phil Banes and Sheila Gooch, Ryain and Nikki Fry, Gretchen and Colter Banes, Sheldon, Mo.; and George and Helen Clinkenbeard, Springfield, Mo.
