Why have a recount?

Dear editor:

I am writing in regards to the article in the Daily Mail, "Prosecutor's race too close to call."

Now we spent thousands of taxpayers' dollars to purchase the new counting ballot mahines and our coutny clerk thinks it may be necessary to recount the votes by hand. What is wrong in the courthouse?

How do you canvas the votes that have already been counted in the machines?

Our county clerk said she had been told that there was at least one vote in the machine for the visually and physically disabled voters.

Our system of voting was changed so we would have correct count. Now you are questioning the count.

You know, when two teams are playing a ball game and one team wins by one point, they are the winner.

Why is it any different in an election?

Now why not be honest in the election? Why spend more money on a court-ordered recount?
