LeRoy "Frog" Rainey

LeRoy "Frog" Rainey, of Walker, Mo., the son of Roy Rainey and Mary Rainey (Rose), was born May 28, 1946, in Nevada, Mo., and passed away on Sept. 23, 2006, at his home at 60 years of age.

He was united in marriage to Jessie Gann on July 8, 1976, in Miami, Okla. He graduated from Walker High School. LeRoy was a truck driver for more than 45 years and made many friends while driving his Peterbilt around the area. He drove for Metz Grain and even Murphy Farms for a bit, Frog loved to fish and hunt and always enjoyed spending time, with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a big family man and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie, of the home; one son Billy Don Rainey and his wife Lisa; daughter, Sondra Lynn Hampton and her husband Mike; a brother, William Dale Rainey and his wife Shirley Rainey; five grandchildren, Kelsie Ast, Trenton Ast, Jessica Hampton, Hannah Rainey and Logyn Rainey. He was preceded by his parents and one brother, Dennis Wayne Rainey.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m., at the Pentecostal Assembly Church with Shelby Brandt officiating and Dennis Engelbrecht assisting. Burial will follow in Moore Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pentecostal Assembly Church in LeRoy's name. Arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
