Duane Gordon Willers

Duane Gordon Willers, 54, Moundville, Mo., passed away suddenly as the result of an automobile accident on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006. He was born Sept. 17, 1952, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Don Lee Willers and Bonnie Jeanne Hornecker Willers. He married Peggy A. Fritts on Aug. 19, 1973, in Nevada, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Duane lived his whole life in Moundville and attended school in Bronaugh. He was a graduate of Bronaugh High School in 1970. He joined the Army National Guard and served in Kansas from 1970-'76 and in Nevada from 1978-'83. Duane worked for 3M Company in Nevada for the past 32 years. He also farmed on the family farm in Moundville. Duane was a member of the Moundville Methodist Church. He was a member of the Osage Masonic Lodge No. 303 and currently serving as grand master and was a member of the Scottish Rites in Fort Scott.

Survivors in addition to his wife Peggy; include two daughters, Patricia Crain and her husband, Sage, Neosho, Mo., Donna Jean Willers and her fiance, Keith Jenkins, Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson, Nash Crain, Neosho, Mo.; and two brothers, Doug Willers, Metz, Mo., and Dan Willers, Carl Junction, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at Moundville Cemetery, Moundville, with Ed Post officiating. Friends may call now and until 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Masonic services will be held at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 17, with visitation following from 6:30-7:30 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home.
