Nevada Daily Mail
The Wayside Inn Museum and The Preserve Our Past Society are planning to present the "Festival of Trees."
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 22 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The museum is working in conjunction with the Annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony being held in the park in El Dorado Springs. The museum welcomes you to tour the trees decorated by local students and vote for your favorite tree. The tour is indoors.
The museum will be serving coffee, hot chocolate and cookies. The tour is free and organizers are encouraging citizens to stop by to see what's new at the Wayside Inn Museum.
In addition to the museum festivities, the ceremony in the park will feature the Miss Merry Christmas candidates, entertainment and hotdogs served by Senator Delbert Scott and Representative Mike Parson.
Santa Claus is making an appearance as well! Bring the family and join us as we begin the season by celebrating Christmas in El Dorado Springs.
The Christmas Lighting Ceremony is an effort of the Chamber of Commerce, City of El Dorado Springs, The Preserve Our Past Society, Spring City Revitalization Group, Sac Osage Electric and GFWC Generation III.
The Annual Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 2, 2006 in downtown El Dorado Springs. Representatives of the Wayside Inn Museum also noted that the museum will be open and visitors are welcome to take a historical tour in addition to enjoying the parade held that morning.
