Keeping in touch

Dear editor:

As Christmas draws near, my mind goes back to my days teaching and coaching at Nevada High School. I moved away from Nevada 11 years ago and I still miss a lot of people that I made friends with and/or taught/coached at the high school.

Since moving from Nevada in 1995, I have gotten married and have four children (that will probably be a big surprise to a lot of people). After teaching at Nevada for seven years, I moved to West Plains High School where I was an Assistant Principal for three years before moving to Marion C. Early High School as Principal for three years and then to Clinton High School as Principal for two years.

I am now the principal at Bakersfield High School for the past three years and I live in West Plains. Without a doubt, my years at Nevada were the most enjoyable years of my life as an educator.

I keep in touch with Kevin McKinley and John McNeley at the high school and Myles Miller at Edward Jones from time to time, but I have not talked to anyone else in Nevada in a long time. I went to several weddings of former students after I left Nevada including Misty Caldwell's, Justin and Amy Gragg's, Candy Mason's and Kylie Sheets.

I really would love to hear from any old friends or former students to see where their lives have taken them these past few years. They can Email me at gjackson@bakersfield.k12.mo.us and I will get back with them.

I hope everyone in Nevada has a great Christmas. Thank you for printing this letter.

Sincerely,

-- Greg Jackson
