Charlene Anita Johnson

Charlene Anita Johnson, age 56, of Nevada, passed away at her home on Jan. 6, 2007, following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 31, 1950, in Rockford, Ill., to Charles A. Phillips and Pearl Hamilton Phillips.

Charlene came to Missouri at a young age with her family. She graduated from Tunis High School in Louisburg, Mo. She lived in Springfield, Mo. for many years until coming to Nevada in 1993.

Survivors include one son, David Johnson and his wife Tammy of Jefferson City Mo.; four grandchildren, Cody Allen Johnson, Sylvia Dawn Bolan, Michael James Bolan, and Chelsey Jaunita Lateese Johnson; three brothers, Dennis Phillips and Clifford Phillips of Elkland, Mo., and Kenneth Houchin of Branson, Mo.; and two sisters, Diane Britt and Edith Dishman of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Shirley Clark.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with John Nichols officiating. Interment followed in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
