Marion Ray Moore Jr., 80, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Christian Health Care in Nevada. He was born Dec. 11, 1926, in Nevada, to Marion Ray Moore Sr. and Lulla Elizabeth Carroll Moore.

Marion grew up and attended school in Nevada. He worked in commercial construction most of his working life. He had lived in Pleasanton, Kan., for 27 years. Following his retirement, he lived in Arizona for 6 1/2 years and had been back in Nevada for the past three years.

He was married to Leta Mae Hargrove and they had five children. They include Shirley W. Musick, and her husband, John, Kansas City, Mo, "Dutch" Moore and his wife Falena, Ashland, Mo., Susan Boatwright and her husband, Wylie, Joplin, Mo., Sherril Brooks and her husband, Stephen, Nevada, and Sandra Polk and her husband, David, Waverly, Neb.; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dorothy Herstein and Ruby Folkner, both of Nevada; and one brother, Larry Moore, Springfield, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Chris; and one great-granddaughter, Shaleigh. He was married to Mary Ellen Bishop for 27 years and she preceded him in death in 1995.

The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
