Mary Lou Palmer, 80, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1926, in Nevada, to Frank Shade and Mary E. Fox Shade. She married Donald Lee Palmer on Jan. 11, 1952, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Mary Lou grew up in Nevada and was a graduate of Nevada High School. She was a homemaker. Mary Lou and her husband lived in Chillicothe, Mo., for 27 years prior to coming back to Nevada on Jan. 1, 1995, where they have lived ever since. She was a member of the Union Hall Baptist Church, El Dorado Springs, Mo. Mary Lou taught Sunday school and Bible classes for 55 years and was a respected teacher of the Bible.

In addition to her husband Donald, she is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Palmer McKim and her husband, Paul, Maryville, Mo.; three grandsons, Joshua McKim and his wife, Angie, Junction City, Kan., Daniel McKim and his wife, Natalie, Liberty, Mo., and Ben McKim, Maryville; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Mary Claire McKim; one brother, Donald Shade, Springfield, Mo.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Sonny Shade and Norman Shade.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 20, at Union Hall Baptist Church, El Dorado Springs, with the Rev. Hubert Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends Friday evening, Jan. 19, from 7-8, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
