Voters can still register for March election

There's still time to register to vote for the upcoming election narrowing the field of Nevada City Council candidates.

Absentee ballots for the March 6, 2007, Nevada city primary election are available at the clerk's office, located in the Vernon County Courthouse, Nevada. Registered voters may request an application for an absentee mail-out ballot by calling the clerk's office at(417) 448-2500. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Wednesday, Feb. 28.

The clerk's office will be open, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, March 3, for absentee balloting. The last day to vote absentee is Monday, March 5, at 5 p.m. The last day to register to vote in the election is Feb. 11. Registrants must present a valid Missouri driver's license or other approved identification.
