Lewis Albert Stinson, 81, was born on June 3, 1925, in Hugeton, Kan., to Helen Mae (Emeigh) and Avery Gustives Stinson and went home on Feb. 20, 2007, in Independence, Mo. Joined in Holy Matrimony on Aug. 28, 1943, to Iris Berdena Lay in Fort Collins, Colo., they were blessed with four children, Valera Marguerite, Orvella Evylen, Lewis Albert Jr. and Janice Louava.

Survivors include three siblings, Avery G. Stinson Jr., Laverne, Okla., John W. Stinson, Laverne, Mary Helen McCoy, Laverne; daughter, Valera Matthews and husband Roger, Sheldon, Orvella Bauman and husband Michael, Sugar Creek, Mo.; son, Lewis Stinson "Bud" and wife Cindy, Florissant, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Lewis is preceded in death by Iris, his wife of 53 years in 1996; daughter Janice; parents Avery and Helen; sisters Lois McGraw and Iona Tucker; siblings Richard and Effie who died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at the Sheldon Christian Church in Sheldon on Feb. 23, at noon. Burial will be at Sheldon Cemetery at Sheldon.
