No time for dramshop bills

JEFFERSON CITY -- The house had recovered somewhat from its nervousness as a result o the smallpox scare this afternoon and 11 members were present at this session. An effort was made by Representative Botsford of Knox County to bring up the committee substitute for the Pemberton dramshop bill for engrossment, but this motion failed to get a second. The members were there for the purpose of passing or killing some of the 900 bills before the house and they were willing to vote on them in bunches of six and less.

Grand opening of paint store

Grand opening of the new Sherman-Williams branch, 115 N. Main, will be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it was announced today by branch manager Robert L. Bain.

Area residents are invited to visit the store on all three days of the opening from 8 a.m., to 5:30 p.m. Special features will include door prizes and gifts.

"The new Nevada branch is one of the most modern paint outlets in the state," said Mr. Bain. "From our extensive stock we are able to fill the paint and color requirements of homemakers, painting contractors, commercial establishments and industrial firms."

One attractive section of the branch is called a Color Service Center. Here the homemaker may study a selection of color aids and plan distinctive color schemes for a single room or an entire home.
