Effect of the food law

The pure food and drug law, which went into effect the first of January, has already shown the good that will follow its enforcement.

Many worthless remedies that have been advertised for the cure of catarrh, a disease that is universally prevalent, have been driven out of existence by the pure food law.

The effect of this is to increase the sale of remedies that are valuable and that fulfill the provisions of the law. Hyomel, for example, is meeting with a larger sale than ever before and Ballagh's drug store is still selling it under guarantee that it will cure cararrh or the money will be refunded. Woman suffers burns in Montevallo area fire

Mrs. Edna Wilson is in the Nevada Hospital recovering from burns suffered in a fire at the farm home of Mrs. and Mrs. Harold Wilson near Montevallo Wednesday afternoon. Her condition is not serious.

The Daily Mail learned today that the Wilson home burned to the ground when a stove exploded. Mrs. Wilson was staying at the home of her son and daughter-in-law caring for the children, a baby and another youngster.

Mrs. Wilson brought the youngsters to safety by everything else was lost in the fire.
