Gilma K. (Adams) Pilcher

Gilma K. (Adams) Pilcher, 82, Nevada, Mo., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2007, following an illness of several weeks. She was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Garland, Kan., the daughter of Worlie Wilbur and Vina Mae (HuddIeston) Adams; the granddaughter of Marion Francis and Laura Belle Adams, Gilbert Beebe and Phelena Cathryn (Munn) Huddleston. She married Murriel Pilcher on April 4,1941, in Clayton (St. Louis County), Mo. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1980.

Gilma was born and reared in this area and spent her entire life here. She worked for a many years at Key Work Clothes. Nelly Don and Taystee Bread Box Store in Nevada. Gilma was a member of Nevada Assembly of God Church. She volunteered for a number of years at Nevada Regional Medical Center and was a member of the auxiliary there. She also served for many years as the secretary-treasurer of the Olive Branch Cemetery Association.

Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Reed and her husband, Harold, Nixa, Mo.; one granddaughter, Lisa Janes, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; one step-grandson, Kevin Reed, stationed at Norfolk, Va. USN; four great-grandchildren, Mandy Jones, Blue Springs, Mo., Matthew Bennett, Fairgrove, Mo., Brandon Jennings and Cody Janes, both of El Dorado Springs; and three great-great-grandchildren. Also, one brother, Vestal Adams, Jerome, Idaho; one sister, Loretta Belle Smith, Filer, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, LeAnn Renae Watson and her husband, Robert; and two brothers, Worlie Lester Adams and Kenneth Lee Rice.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Friday, April 20, at Ferry Funeral Home with Bill Clevenger officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Hospice in care of the Nevada Regional Medical Center Foundation or the American Cancer Society in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
