Norman L. "Chuck" Cross

Norman L. "Chuck" Cross, 57, Edgerton, Kan., passed away at his home on Thursday, April 19, 2007. He was born Sept. 30, 1949, in Nevada, Mo., to Norman Ivan Cross and Frances Maxine Fellows Cross. He married Frances Marie Dixon on Feb. 24, 1981, in Olathe, Kan., and she survives of the home.

Chuck grew up in Nevada, and graduated from Nevada High School in 1967. Following marriage, he and Frances moved to Edgerton, in 1983, where Frances is currently mayor. He was inventory clerk for Marley Cooling Tower Co. of Olathe for 30 years. He drove for Five Star Trucking, Edgerton. Chuck coached girls softball and little league baseball in Gardner, Kan., and Edgerton. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing softball. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Frances, include one son, Dusting Lee Cross and his wife, Kimberly, Paola, Kan.; one daughter, Kati Marie Cross, Edgerton; two sisters, Betty Simon, Westphalia, Mo., and Lora Lee Fahnestock, Fort Scott, Kan.; and one special grandson, Tucker. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Thomas Dyson Cross; and one sister, Norma Jean.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 24, at Edgerton United Methodist Church, Edgerton.
