Dawson Jimmy Williams, 64, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born Sept. 26, 1942, in Metz, Mo., to Dawson Roy Williams and Hazel Lucille Kleitz Williams.

Mr. Williams was born and reared in this area and spent most all of his life here. He made his living as a mechanic primarily in the heavy equipment and agricultural area.

Survivors include two sons, Dawson Williams, Nevada, and Slade Williams, Nevada; one daughter, Yvonne Scott, Olathe, Kan., nine grandchildren; mother, Lucille Jay, Altoona, Kan.; seven brothers, Mike Williams, Nevada, John Williams, Liberal, Mo., Bill Williams, Nevada, Butch Pilcher, Elgin, Okla., David Williams, Nevada, Ronnie Williams, of Florida, and Jeff Williams, Liberal; five sisters, Shirley Sumner, Lamar, Maggie Stout, Lenexa, Kan., Kathy Louvier, Nevada, Sarah Fay, Topeka, Kan., and Mary Holland, Nashville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Hampton and one brother, Steve Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, June 11, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Underwood Cemetery, Hume. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends on Monday from 1-2 p.m., preceding the service at the funeral home.
