Mary Arnold Delehanty

Mary Arnold Delehanty, 75, Martinez, Calif., passed away at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Walnut Creek, Calif., on June 6, 2007, following a long illness. Mary was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Atascadero, Calif., to Guy and Grace Skinner Arnold. She was a resident of Martinez for over 40 years.

Mary graduated from Atascadero High School in 1949, and San Jose State University in 1953. She was a teacher by profession. On July 3, 1954, Mary married David N. Delehanty in San Luis Obispo, Calif. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1999.

Survivors include one son, Timothy Delehanty of Long Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Nancy Kerbs and her husband Larry, Nevada, Mo., Eileen Pearkes and her husband Tim, Nelson, B.C., Canada, and Nora Delehanty, Martinez, Calif.; grandchildren George and Jack Pearkes, and Mary Katherine and Thomas Kerbs; her brother, John Arnold of Santa Margarita, Calif.; and her sister of Paso Robles, Calif.

Graveside services were held on Saturday, June 9, at Queen of Heaven Cemetary in Lafayette, Calif., under the direction of Oak Park Hills Chapel, Walnut Creek, Calif., with deacon Dave Holland of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Martinez officiating.

A memorial mass will be held on July 21, at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill.
