The Nevada City Council will hold a special work session at 7 p.m., Tuesday in the council chambers to watch and discuss the presentation the city will use to educate Nevada voters about the upcoming sewer revenue bond issue that will be on the Aug. 7 ballot.
City Manager Bill McGuire told the council during their June 19 meeting that he is hoping that showing their presentation at a council meeting will bring out any additional questions that the city should address in their presentation.
The proposed $9.8 million bond issue will be added to the $5.2 million in bonds voters approved in 2003, but have never been issued, to cover the estimated $15 million that the Missouri Department of Natural Resources has estimated it will cost for a new wastewater treatment plant.
During the April 17 council meeting McGuire told the council that the current sewer rates will cover the cost of repaying the additional bonds.
The meeting is open to the public.
