Dates set for next election of city council members

During a regular meeting on Tuesday, the Nevada City Council made a change in its election calendar, reflecting the changes in state law. April 8, 2008, is the date for the 2008 municipal general election and Feb. 5, 2008, will be the date for a primary if needed. Filing for the two, three-year council seats, opens on Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m., Nov. 20.
