Nevada golfers win one and lose one at home

The Nevada Lady Tiger golf team hosted Carl Junction and Buffalo in a home match at the Frank E. Peters Municipal Golf Course on Tuesday.

Carl Junction, with a 212, won top team honors by only three strokes over Nevada's team total of 215. Buffalo followed in third at 301. Natalie Bird from Carl Junction was low medallist with a 45, while teammate Adysen Mertens followed close behind with a 46. Heather Klingaman and Melea Galimberto tied for low score for Nevada with a pair of 48's. Sophomore Melea Galimberto's 48 was a career low for her as a member of the Nevada Lady Tiger golf team. Rounding out Nevada's other scores were Emily DeBrine with a 52 and Chelsea Turner with a 67. Jessica Mosbrucker shot a 69 and Chalene Fecht shot a 71 for Nevada.

Nevada's next match will be today against Clinton and Sedalia Smith-Cotton at Clinton Country Club. Senior Nicole Campbell and Junior Lakyn Mansfield each had a qualifying round score of 50 earlier this week. They both should be back in the line up for the matches on Monday at Sedalia and Tuesday at Pittsburg.

The Lady Tigers are going into their last week of competition before districts, which will be held on Monday, Oct. 1, at the Sedalia Country Club.
