Frank Ola Sherrick

Frank Ola Sherrick, age 87, of Nevada, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at his home, following a lengthy illness. Frank was born June 20, 1920, in Moundville, Mo., to Thomas Alpha Sherrick and Alice Rebecca Greer Sherrick Rutherford. On Dec. 25, 1940, he married Daisy Mae Matthews, in Lamar, Mo., who preceded him in death on March 31, 2006.

Frank worked as an interior, exterior house painters contractors for 59 years. He was a member of the 203rd Houn Dawg Regiment of World War II. Frank was an avid fisherman and an excellent marksman who enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary L. Werst and her husband Floyd, Nevada, Mo.; two sons, Thomas A. Sherrick and his wife Diana, Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Frank E. "Bub" Sherrick, Nevada, Mo.; two grandchildren, Lisa Nicewaner and her husband, Sean, Liberty, Mo., and Shawn Werst and his wife Chanda, Strafford, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Paige Nicewaner and Gavon Worst, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Daisy, he was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Jewel and Bev Sherrick; and seven sisters, Dollie George, Gertrude Wysong, Hazel Cole, Letha Ammann, Nona Pasiey, twin sister, GraceMarschang, and Jennie Lou Kane.

Committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Oct, 9, at Newton Burial. Park, Nevada, Mo., with Pastor Mike Satterlee officiating. Friends may call now and until 10 a.m., on Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.
