Maxfield tapped for top spot at Little Rock YMCA

Friday, December 21, 2007

YMCA director Tedd Maxfield announced today that he has accepted a position as the director of the YMCA of Little Rock, Ark.

Maxfield has served the Osage Prairie YMCA in Nevada since 1996 and is active in many civic groups and community events. For example, Maxfield, a hot air balloon enthusiast, brought hot air balloons to the Bushwhacker Days festivities. He is also a past president of the Nevada Rotary Club.

"I'll miss the entire Vernon County community," Maxfield said, "but particularly the volunteers and members of the YMCA. Those folks have been so supportive of me and of the YMCA."

Maxfield begins his new duties on Feb. 1; the Osage Prairie board of directors will begin a national search for Maxfield's successor immediately.
