Humansville man dies in hunting tragedy

A man from Humansville was killed while on a duck hunting trip to the Four Rivers Conservation Area in northern Vernon County. Vernon County Sheriff Ron Peckman said the incident happened at approximately noon on Sunday.

"We got a call there had been a hunting accident in the Four Rivers area," Peckman said. "A 38-year-old man was fatally shot while duck hunting with a partner. The wound was located in the back."

Peckman said the man has been identified as Mark G. Burch.

The shooting is considered an accident and was investigated by the Vernon County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
