Stephen Lee Wardin

Stephen Lee Wardin, 57, Aurora, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in Aurora, following a brief illness. He was born July 21, 1950, in Nevada, to Hudson W. Wardin and Neva T. Watson Wardin.

Stephen graduated from Nevada High School, in 1969. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, Working as a laborer was his occupation.

Survivors include three sons, Chris Wardin and Steve Wardin, both of Aurora, and Forrest Wardin, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; his mother, Neva Wardin, Nevada; six grandchildren; one brother, William Wardin, Nevada; two sisters, Donna Spencer, Nevada, and Peggy Stafford, Sheldon. He was preceded in death by his father Hudson W. "Jack" Wardin, in 2003; one brother, Clayton Wardin, and one niece, Tammy Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery Fort Scott. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m., at the funeral borne on Tuesday.
