Smoke in laundry room triggers early morning alarm at Hab Center

The Nevada Fire Department responded to an alarm at the Nevada Habilitation Center Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. The alarm went off and housekeeping personnel reported smoke in the laundry room on the third floor. Fire department and state maintenance personnel checked, found no smoke and no fire. Fire Chief Robert Benn stated that because the smoke dissipated so quickly it was probably a problem with an appliance in the laundry room. All appliances were turned off and unplugged until they could be checked.
