Missouri conservation hosting women's hunting clinic

The Missouri Department of Conservation is hosting a Women's Turkey Hunting Clinic on Saturday, April 5, 2008, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Schell-Osage Conservation Area near Schell City.

Participants will get an introduction to turkey hunting with multiple stations to educate beginning hunters. Topics discussed during the clinic will include rules and regulations, calling techniques, call making, hunting techniques, decoy use, and shotgun patterning. Youth can bring a personal shotgun or one will be provided. Participants need to be at least 9 years old and those between the ages of 9 and 15 must have an adult sponsor participating in the clinic. Participants may bring their own shotgun or staff will have guns available to use. This event is free but is limited to 40 participants.
