County officials open bids for upcoming jail project

Tabatha Goodwin/Daily Mail Vernon County officials accepted bids for the Vernon County sheriff's office and jail project Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Vernon County Circuit Court. The county received 63 total bids for various parts of the project. Approximately 40 interested persons attended the bid readings throughout the afternoon. JE Dunn will review the bids and interview potential contractors during the next two weeks. JE Dunn and Goldberg, Sullivan & McCrerey Architects will meet with the Vernon County Commission on June 3, at 9 a.m., to make final recommendations for contractors for the project.
