Lorene Eugina Nance, age 23, of Sheldon, passed away Friday, May 30, 2008, in Chicago, Ill.

Lorene was born Sept. 6, 1984, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 2002 and was working toward a college degree in child psychology. Exceptionally innovative and creative, Lorene had a natural talent for interior design and enjoyed scrapbooking. She had worked for Murphy Farms during her high school years and again, for a short time, after returning from college at Louisville, Ky. She then worked at the Lamar Wal-Mart Deli for two years and briefly at the Conoco Travel Plaza.

Survivors include her parents, Marilyn (Martin) Nance, Sheldon and John Nance, Arkansas; three brothers, Lewin Nance, Curtis, Neb., Gunner Knight and Tony Knight both of Sheldon, maternal grandfather, Thomas Martin, Lamar; two aunts, Christine Martin, Lamar and Sonya Nance, Newport, Ark.; three uncles, Red Nance and Richard Nance, both of the state of Arkansas, and Tom Martin, Jerico Springs; and a large extended family. Lorene was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Eugina Nance and her maternal grandmother, Helen M. Martin.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 29, at 806 Broadway, (Curves) in Lamar, with visitation following until 4 p.m. To honor Lorene, her family requests that you dress casually and comfortably and bring a story or special memory to share. Arrangements are under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.
