Fort Cinema on to state tourney play

* With a win in the Fort Scott Cal Ripken League final, Fort Cinema will take part in the upcoming city hosted state tournament Fort Cinema won the Fort Scott Cal Ripken Major League baseball championship by winning its final game on June 25 to finish the season undefeated. Cal Ripken Baseball is the youngest division of Babe Ruth Baseball. And Fort Scott will play host to the Kansas 10-year-old Cal Ripken State Tournament July 18-22. This will be the second time in the past four years Fort Scott will host a State-level Babe Ruth tournament. As host, the team that will represent Fort Scott qualifies automatically.
