Dorothy Irene Fisher, age 81, a resident of Moran, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Moran Manor Nursing Home in Moran. She grew up in Bronson, Kan., and graduated from Bronson High School with the class of 1944. On March 13, 1947, she married Russell Elvis Fisher and they lived in Moran, Kan., until 2007 when they both had to move to the Moran Nursing home because of their health. She was a homemaker, working some with the U.S. Postal Service and with her husband when he worked for the Skelgas Company.

Survivors include two sisters, Karen Kay Clark, of Diamond, Mo., and Georgia Lee Wood, of Amarillo, Texas, and a sister-in-law, Bessie Lucas Mathews, of Moran, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis, her parents and her two brothers, Scott E. and Frank Loren Mathews Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 7, at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bronson Cemetery.
