Ronald Ray McMillan, 70, Wyandotte, Okla., passed away Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, at St. John's Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Bushnell, S.D., to Allan Roy McMillan and Mabel Alice Hendrickson McMillan. He was married June 16, 1957, in Wyandotte, Okla., to Patricia Schiffbauer and she survives of the home.

Ron was born in South Dakota and spent part of his youth there. He moved to Jasper, Mo., at about the age of 12 and graduated from Carthage High School. He attended Ozark Bible College and Lincoln Christian College. He was a Christian church minister for 50 years. He also spent years as a sports official and also worked as a funeral pre-arrangement counselor for many years. He was a chaplain for the police and fire departments in Frankfort, Ky.

In addition to his wife Pat, survivors include one son, Timothy McMillan, Clinton, Okla.; two daughters, Kimberly Camp, Joplin, Mo., and Beverly McMillan, Carl Junction, Mo.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Merwyn McMillan, Joplin, Mo., and Allan McMillan, Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister Lorraine Pierce, Rogers Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lloyd McMillan.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Blendville Christian Church, 2201 S. Picher St, Joplin, Mo., with Timothy McMillan officiating. Interment will follow in Wyandotte Indian Cemetery, Wyandotte, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., on Monday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at Blendville Christian Church in Joplin between 9 and 10 a.m., prior to the service.
