* El Dorado Springs structures to be razed to make way for municipal parking lot to accommodate about 60 vehicles in the downtown area.

The Spring City Revitalization Group, a citizens' effort to raise awareness and funds for the revitalization of El Dorado Springs, recently closed on another property in the downtown area.

According to a letter recently sent to the Daily Mail, the group purchased the building at 112 West Broadway, formerly known as the Mohave Apartment Building. It is the property next to 106 West Broadway that was purchased by SCRG earlier this year.

Both buildings are to be demolished and replaced by a municipal parking lot. The lot should accommodate approximately 60 vehicles in the downtown business district and serve as an overflow lot for the Civic Center, Spring Park and for the annual picnic.

After preparations carefully were made, the annual Chamber of Commerce lighting Ceremony also took place on Nov. 26.

At the event, State Senator Delbert Scott and State Representative Mike Parsons assisted the SCRG by cooking free hot dogs grilled on Heritage State Bank's behemoth barbecue grill on wheels.

Spring City Revitaliza-tion Group members Bob Barlow, Miranda Boulting-house, Bob Burris, Jack Tough, Pam Fritts, Alice Hacker, Kimball Long, Harold Fugate and SCRG Marketing and Event Coordinator Jackson Tough served the hot dogs and hot chocolate, greeted the public and registered them for a chance to win a grill donated by the Sac Osage Electric Co-operative.

After the Lighting Ceremony, the grill was awarded to Corey Cain.

Miss Merry Christmas candidates were also introduced during the event, and several students from Mr. Ron Alumbaugh's choral department sang. Performers included Ni-cole Nordby, Josh Benham, Nick Nordby, Arantxa Rodriguez, Gi-nelle Esry, Chrystal O' Dell, Kamber Cain and Sydney, Hannah and Kyle of the Robertson Trio.

The annual El Dorado Springs Christmas parade also was presented on Dec. 6.
