Leave "In God We Trust" on our money

Thursday, December 18, 2008

Dear Editor:

Christmas time is a time of refelction, a time to reflect on four little words, "In God We Trust."

Many atheists are offended by those words and are working to remove them from all U.S. coins and currency.

If they succeed, we will still trust God and He will still be there for us. However, I think about it in these terms. Those four little words could save a life or change a life.

Picture this. A destitute or distraught person picks up a coin on the ground. They just happen to see those four little words. Soon they turn to God, obtain salvation and get out of the mess they are in.

Sound far-fetched? No. It could happen and probably has happened thousands of times.

Let's not take a chance. Let's leave those four little words on our coins. The life you save could be your own.

Merry Christmas
