Pointing the way to local sites

Thursday, March 12, 2009
Long-awaited "wayfinding" signs that point visitors toward sites in Nevada for recreation, education, historical information and more, have been erected at various locations. Some signs had already been erected, but these workers were still busy on Friday, putting up the signs. Some of the points of interest that signs will help visitors to locate include Cottey College, the community center, recreational sites. This project has been in the works for at least two years, and when it started, Nevada was the smallest city in the state to make use of this type of signage. A total of 25 signs were to be placed at various sites throughout the city, with pre-emptive signs on U.S. 71 and U.S. 54 to help direct traffic into the city. --Steve Moyer/Daily Mail
